Thumbs up Road trips

Hi Guys, Dave from UK, just realised the amount of information on here re trips, the wife and I have done road trips the last four or five years, we have done SF South and done CA, Yosemite, Kings, 395 thru DV into vegas, one year SF North CA into Oregon across to bend, Crater Lake etc, Another was SF across to Tahoe where we stayed and did days out from there, two years ago into Denver then a huge loop, thru Nebraska SD, MT, across to Yellowstone, South ending up at Ouray/Silverton, then back towards Denver, last year went into Knoxville then off east to WV, then back thru TN, Ky, down to do Memphis, Chattanooga, Nashville etc, and back into the Smokies. try to do around 2500 ish each trip over 2 weeks, planning to go into Seattle this year, out North up into BC and across to do Jasper, Banff, then South into Mt, then a loop taking in as much as possible of Idaho. I always use Eaglerider, seen some great sights, met some fantastic people, will spend more time on here now I have found this info, I always plan the route using the Harley Rideplanner, its a great tool, regards to all. Dave and Josi (UK)

Thumbs up re road trips

Hi, Notgrownup no not ridden the Alps, but have driven/travelled in Europe whilst I was stationed over in Germany for 15 years during my Armed Forces(22 Yrs) time, Bavaria is a great place and just before the youngest was born the wife and I headed South in our old VW camper van trying to find some decent weather, after the Black Forest area(nice) kept going to Lake Contstance, went through the Brenner pass, the Dolomites (italian Alps) and ended up staying the week at Lake Garda which is a beautiful place. The trouble for me is in UK/Europe the roads can be congested, the £/Euro are just about one for one, the the price of gas is through the roof, weather especially in UK can be hit/miss, so a trip can be expensive and wet!! We love the States, I am a petrolhead, so my love of cars/bikes means I feel comfortable over there, a lot of people we meet often comment on how much of the States we have seen, trouble is human nature is to take things for granted. I have just recently had a big health scare, so even more now we think live life, its not a rehearsal!! Ride Safe Dave

Hey dax, if you ever plan a ride on the continent check out this thread:

***The HDForums Mascot's European Tour***

There are some more members from Europe over here; you'll find them in the HDForums.com members in Europe map.

Let me know where you are in the UK and I'll add your location to the map.

If you would like to respond, please send in a post in the ***The HDForums Mascot's European Tour*** thread and join this project.

Hope to meet you in the Mascot thread!

Have fun,

FXD2003Rider

Those dates are getting a little late the weather is crap shoot in the NW startinng in mid Sept. I don't know much money you saved but I would reconcider it .You could have great weather or you could even run into snow in Jasper . A few weeks earlier could make a big difference in the weather .
