I was waiting for someone in SoCal to chime in about Mexico. Your insurance is no good
to them regardless what your policy sez, a passport is an issue if they want it to be, get
familiar with how mordita works (plan ahead with $5, 10 & 20's), and if you're not in a group that bike of yours has little chance of making it back - local police, federalies, or
just some local bandito will have it. I went down to Baja for years with an off-road bunch, but those are days gone by - waaaaaaay to dangerous now. IMHO.
Mexico remember it well baja 1000 & 500 12 yr's in a row .like anything else the stuff got old . Give up my holiday trailer down in erindida on the coast about 70 miles south of encenada man now thiers a place to check out for ol mexico .in oregon now on the coast and it to is just as nice.
+1 Grumbler
That is the way to go. Also doesn't Hwy 35? (Skyline) go south from Hwy 92 almost to Carmel?
Sorry for the belated response. Am not here all that much.
Hwy 35 officially goes from Sloat Blvd by Lake Merced in SF to Hwy 17.
However, it then continues as Summit Rd to jct of Soquel San Jose Rd
which ends in Soquel.
Unofficially, it runs btw SF and Soquel. Can follow Soquel Drive out to
Aptos then Cabrillo Hwy south.
Who's talking about Mexico? This thread is about Hiway 1, CA, OR. Wake up.
The second post - Black Bagger - on this thread spoke of riding down to Ensenada. You
seem rather narrow - Highway 1 really does go down to Cabo San Lucas. Have a nice
day.
