Wife and I did the keys last February. We stayed in Marathon at the Blackfin Resort. We trailered down (bad, bad, but I couldn't convince her she could ride in a snowmobile suit). The Blackfin was good because they are also a marina, and had plenty of room for our trailer. Blackfin is NOT fancy, but was clean, and one of the cheaper places we could find. We rode down and stayed in Key West at a B&B for one night. Marathon is a good place (IMHO) to stay, cheaper motels, great restaurants, easy day ride both to KW and back, and Key Largo and back. If you like the lap of luxury, and have deep pockets, stay in KW. Not many places with trailer space, if you aren't riding there though.

We are riding down to the Keys after bike week, stopping off first at Islamorada we are due to arrive at Key West on Tues 9th March, we are staying at Marrero's Guest House (http://www.marreros.com), not cheap at $190 a night but it looks very nice and is only half a block off Duval Street

I never have stayed right in Key West but from the many times I've been there it seems like the whole town is biker friendly. I don't think you'll have any problems it's just more or less how much you want to spend. I usually stay in Marathon or that general area and ride down. If you want some of the best seafood in the Keys go to Keys Fisheries in Marathon www.keysfisheries.com/ . It's not all flashy and commercialized like most the places down there that suck you in only to find you paid way too much for the same food you could have got a Red Lobster in Ohio. It's an operating fishery located right on the water so everything you eat was caught fresh. Also have a great elevated bar with a great view. I live in Michigan so thinking about heading to the Keys myself! You'll have a good time down there no matter where you stay!

Lived on Big Pine and Marathon for about 20 years. Be prepared for traffic. March is in middle of tourist season, if there is a middle anymore. Don't believe the replys that speak generally, like any hotel will allow this or that. They are all different ran by different people with different policys. If you are planing on doing the Duval crawl I would stay as close as possible to Old Town. If your not going to get to crazy I would stay up the Keys because it is great riding at night.

I did KW for 5 years in a row during Daytona. Usually stayed for 2 nites. But not this year. It's a nice ride. But the hotel prices, $250-$400 a nite, in KW are over the top for what you get. Duval street (shop after shop after shop) is fun for about a half day and one evening. After that? But if you've never been there, check out prices using KAYAK. Sometimes you can find a good deal.

If you like to drink, eat, drink, party, drink (not necessarily in that order) then the Conch Republic is the best place to go in the universe w/o havin to get on a plane or boat!
If you can handle 3 bills a night just book at the Pier House at #One Duval Street. It's way, way easier on your hands and knees when you do the Duval Crawl...

We usually stay at a Best Western called the Hibicus Inn. It is a block from Duvall Street. It is an older moter, but clean. If you party much on Duvall Street it is easy to do the Duvall crawl back. It will cost you about 240 a night in March. I have also stayed at the Comfort Inn down there. It will run around 200 but is not close to downtown.

If on your ride down the keys you see a volunteer fire dept. doing a fish fry fundraiser, stop and buy...It is some GREAT seafood. I eat alot of seafood where I live that is caught local (some is caught by me) So I can claim to have eaten some of the best...That VFD fundraiser is in the top 3!

It is great food, and a great cause! again...

We always stay at the Santa Maria Suites, at the far end of Duval Street. Great resort setting with free drinks every night. may be a bit pricy during your time frame though.
