not to much difference between se Texas and Fla other than your beaches are prettier. pa is a rough town espically in the downtown area. if you want to see the destruction from ike get off i h 10 at sulpur and work your way along the gulf to pa. through cameron,johnson bayou,holley beach.
if you like seafood and spicey cajun dishes you will be in the heartland around lafayette. i suggest you take the time to enjoy some boiled crawfish and a few cold ones while in that area.
oh and watch your speed and La is a helmet state!
