I know last month they had a closing at Pisgah National Forest at Highway 276 due to a rock slide but that is all I can help you with. You might could search the Blue Ridge Parkways web site I am sure they would list all of the closures.

As of yesterday, 5/29, I can personally assure you of the Parkway being good to go from Hwy 421 in Watauga County, south through the High Country to Hwy 80 in Mitchell County. Any further developments can be found at http://www.nps.gov/blri/planyourvisit/roadclosures.htm
Watch your speed, be aware of rough pavement and potholes from MP 304-MP 312!

where heading down next week, for what I understand there is two closures within a few miles of each other, the detour is listed on the web site and will take care of both closures. The area is around Pisgah National Forest at MP399 to MP 405. Traveling south take MP 393exit to NC191, 191 to rt 280, 280 to rt 276, 276 back to parkway. This is listed on there website and I called park headquarters to confirm. They weren't able to tell me if the detour is marked, but imagine it would be, expecially with this being there 75 yr anniverasry. The MP marker exits are full miles there is no tenths marked. Ie the detour is listed as exit MP 399.7 there is no .7 exit just 399 Have a safe ride. I understand there is still a closure on I 40 west of ashville, and section that is still under construction with lane restrictions, and one way sections.

animal03 Buy yourself a western NC map when you get to the area and look for side roads to ride. You may find some roads that will be different from what the BR tells you to take and you can find many better rides and still get to see all worth while. Try to see Wheel Through Time while in the maggy valley area.
