I like the OBX, in the spring, or September.....
OBX "bike week" in the spring, (which ain't really a bike week... more like an open house, at several dealerships) is a great time. not a lot of crowds, most shops are opening for tourist season, and the locals, are glad to see us (and our money)
September is great also.... still warm, and the summer crowds have left.
Make sure to call ahead, for ferry service. Also, pay attention to the weather, as September can be an active hurricane period
Planning on going this coming up weekend to the bike fest at the outer banks. Going to ride her out on thursday. Wife and son coming along on friday. Anyone riding out on thursday from the mooresville n.c. area? Looking forward to this as it will be my first coastal ride with the new heritage. Ride safe and often!
