Default Solo trip question

What’s the furthest you have gone solo? No wife or girlfriend on the back.... just you, the bike and the wind!

I'm thinking of going from Dallas, TX to Santa Monica, CA this next summer.
Little intimidated by the ride solo... That’s why I'm asking...

I think about 1300 miles over 3 days was my longest solo trip. Loved every minute.

Sturgis last year. It's about a 3000km return trip, not including the riding around the area. ummm in americaneeeeze 3000km is 1800 mile.

What's your concern? I really liked flying solo. You can eat, sleep, drink, ride, stop, where ever and when ever it pleases you. No discussion, no issues. How could it be any better than that?

A bit over 3,000 miles in 10 days last Spring.. Albuquerque to Death Valley and back
with side jaunts to a number of Old 66 locations.

I'm probably going to make a longer trip through Utah, Nevada, Montana and the Dakotas
this summer timed to MISS Sturgis as I'd prefer quieter, less jammed roads.

Default Solo Trips

Took a 3 day 1000 mile solo trip last June. North into Canada them east, stopped in Morden, MB and checked out "Gaslight Harley Davidson", one of the most unique Dealers I have seen, If you ever get close stop in!! Camped two nights and one night at my sons in Fargo. This summers solo route will be North east through northern Minnesota south through Wisconsin with a stop at the Harley museum in Milwaukee west through Iowa, South Dakota and home. Planning for 7 days about 2000 miles. Two up is great but solo can be a real adventure!!

What I find interesting is the average daily mileage. If you look in the posts on this forum you will see on average 300 miles a day. Which with fuel stops, sight seeing and food is about spot on.

What does everyone average on there trips?

I took a nine day road trip to Sturgis on a sportster, camping all the way; took my time and had fun on the trip. Went between 200-400 miles a day, and took the senic routes. Its not the destination, but the trip to have fun on. Let the little old ladies come up at a gas stop and tell you about how their husbands used to race, they would ride to the race, strip down the bike, race it, fix it, and ride it home.

My first solo trip was 6609 miles in 2004. Loved it so much I've done 5 similar trips since.

On my solo trips I typically ride around 500 miles a day. This past summer I did 700+ 3 days consecutively, from Cleveland, Ohio to Primm, NV. That was on my Duece... Got the Limited 2 weeks after my return so next year I'm riding the 'cushy' bike!
