And Switzerland! No issue in the Netherlands (unless they are extremely loud; but even then we also appreciate tourists ).

Not so obvious since the OP was asking for info about shipping the bike by air.

Short of calling them I thought I would ask here for the good and bad of it..
I see you found hubb, I was going to point you there next.

Here is what I got back and will most likely look at doing. I can visit a lot of people on the way up to Canada from here. I can already see the Main gate in the rear view mirror as I head North!!

The plane ticket would run about $500 US for me one way. Gail also told me that I would have to have the bike there two days before it was to be loaded onto the plane. So factor in two nights of hotel in Toronto as well and a pocket full of $1 bills. I hear the night life kicks *** there

Was wondering about how loud of pipes in Germany is to Loud. I lived there for 10 years but never heard of anyone getting messed with for the pipes. But that was before I started riding a Harley. I have a set of Rush slip ons. 2.75. They are a little louder than stock but nothing that rattles the walls when you fire up the bike. Wondering if I should go back to stock pipes just to be on the safe side?

As a retiree, you should be able to use USAA insurance. They have policies available in Europe.

Yes USAA will hook me up for the small fee of $3400 a year. But that for a few cars and two other scoots I own.

Could you keep us informed on how things go. Any do's or don'ts that you come across. Also make sure you post info and pics of your trip so we can follow. ENJOY YOUR RIDE!!! I would love to do that some day.
