No didn't get to ride the canyon. I had a weather front headed my way and ran all the way down to Silver City, NM to escape it. They were calling for snow down as low as 5000 ft. So I bugged out while I could. I had planned to head up in the mountains to Telluride, Placerville, Montrose, Gunnison, Aspen and then down the East side of CO. But the weather put an end to that idea. Anyway had a great trip thru the SW mountains in NM and up Hwy 191 in AZ.
Neat ride. Did you go up the river from Moab to I-70 on highway 128? I have always liked that ride up the canyon.
Regards,
Bill
I love that route! Surprising how little traffic there is. That's where I learned how the Grand Canyon got it's name. Hint: The town of Grand Lake, CO, got it's name for the same reason.
I understand there is a movie town or something like that near by. Kind of like Bracketville. Didn't find it the last time I was there.
