I stayed at Glencoe from 2004-2008 and the last year I was there it was not as good. I usually stay five days so I think I will try Hog Heaven as the ammenities for the price seem really good. Thanks for all the opinions and advice. Can hardly wait for 2011 Ralley.

I don't know that worrying about the shade is that big of a deal. I saw very few people actually hanging out by their tents during the day. Once night comes, you will have all the shade you need. The few groups that were partying by their tent sites had pop-up covers even if shade was available.

Not last year, but me and the wife stayed in 09. No shade for tent camping as your in a big field. The food is good, showers clean and near the tenting area. The laundry service is attached to the shower building but you have to pay to have it done, we didn't need to so I don't any prices. The tent area is also beside the band stage area so it's a little loud but not to bad. As mentioned it's a stop for Da'bus which is very well priced and sells beer on it, we took it to the Buffalo Chip to see Aerosmith (and see Steven Tyler fall off the stage).
Its a little more of a family place as the security will not allow loud campers, we had just got back from the Devils tower and a few tents down had a lady on her bike sitting there revving it up. It took about a minute and the guard were every where letting them now it was not allowed.

Here was our camping spot, we were in the portion were you have electricity but is all in about the same area. In the back ground is the stage and food court, it was nice having the band right at our tent site every night!

I stayed at Hog Heaven this past year... there is some shade as the photo shows... I echo what others have said about amenities. Would surely stay there again. photo is of "Canadian Hill" behind the new shower building.

Hog Heaven is good, get there early for best shady spots. You can,or could in '06, walk to the dirt track from there, hill climbs as well, if you're into that. You can even ship your tent and stuff ahead. Have fun, I did.

I stayed at Hog Heaven for 11 days. It worked out to about $14 dollars a night after I paid for the entire event. I paid for a single night the first day not knowing what to expect. It had the right balance between fun and a good nights sleep. There's two beer gardens with reasonably priced beers. The more active one at the bottom of the hill has live entertainment. There's a reasonable laundry service. Drop off in the morning, pick it up after a day of riding. You can avoid most to the downtown traffic once you familiarize your self with the accesss road. Heck, they serve you coffee at the shower house. That was real nice. And shade is a real nice thing to have when you get back early from a hot ride in the SD sun.

Good general store, grill, shower house, and lots of shade. Da Bus stops there also, and it's right across the street from Full Throttle, just a few miles outside of town. I'll be staying there for the 3rd time this year.
I stayed at Lamphere as well and It was nice, not too loud. Getting out of town to do some riding was rough. I could just hear my oil saying HELP ME!
