This is my first time in this rally.
I've finally booked a room today, and I will leave on 04/29, ad return on 05/01/11. Anyone from S. FL wants to tag along with me, let me know.
The hotel is Days Inn Panama City, and they still have room available. Only $51/night.
Almost all hotels are booked during this period, so I think this should be a crowded and fun rally.
I am also in the process of install a Contour GPS HD cam on my bike handlebar, so wish me luck.
I couldn't wait!

Hi Jackhis. Just wanted to let you know there is a difference between Panama City and Panama City Beach. Panama City rooms are cheaper than Panama City Beach, there is also a Days Inn on the beach, but don't know what the prices are. Not sure if you are familiar with the area it is not that far and depends on if you want to stay on the beach or not. Same thing with Pensacola and Pensacola Beach. Most of the rally is at the beach, spring rally usually averages between 60 to 70 thousand bikes. If you want to know how far you are from the beach, google how far it is to Coyote Ugly from your hotel address, because it is right in the center of all the venues.

Thanks for the info.
Yes, my hotel is in Panama city, and it is 10 miles away from the Coyote Ugly. Not too far for me.
60 - 70 thousand bikes, I guess I have to park the bike somewhere and walk. How easy to find a parking spot?
Any more tips would be appreciated.

parkin not a real issue...its tight sometimes...since mostly bikes...you can always find a spot to squeeze in at the venues and usually the bars to... venues will have parking security showing where to go...its a blast.....now on the streets late afternoon through the evenin.... is wheel to wheel 5 to 10 mph.. but part of the fun...just kind of hot on the leggs in traffic LOL
lots of people bring lawn chairs and ice chest and sit on side of street watchin and cheering as everyone goes bye LOL I love it this will be my 4th spring rally and gone to 3 fall ones i think.....
now if waffle house fan...there can be waits there in mornin on the beach LOL but if stay in town...probably not so bad in town we have stayed at long beach resort last 3 rallies and love it there....right across from coyote ugly.. next to waffle house and block from wal mart.... little pricey...but great location.. if you at days inn on hywy 98 just go 98 toward beach west i believe til you see signs for front beach rd or thomas dr follow that and will both drop will drop you down to the middle be venues on thomas dr and front beach dr. where they meet is about the center...you can print area map from the thunder beach website or be plenty there at venues...
maybe will see you there for a beer...who knows have a great time and ride safe on way down
anyone going to thunder beach rally in the spring at panama ciry, fla....i have been past 3 years and I love it....... cops seem to just let eveyone be.....have there prescence known...... but leave you alone..
they know why we are there... LOL
seems like condo rates and fees higher this year though. anyonelse noticed that? anyone know of good rates in the coyote ugly area?
we like stayin close, because right in the middle of the strip and of course we end up there few times LOL
We rode down from TN last spring, had a great time. Stayed at the Marriott, a bit pricy but a good place to stay. I suppose we will do it again this spring.
