Default Monsoons

Generally, the monsoons last until early to mid-September (at least in the SW part of the state). The monsoon activity usually peaks in early August -- but that can vary significantly from year to year. I do lots of climbing and hiking and this time of the year you generally need to be off the peak by noon as the daily afternoon t-storms fire up. I have seen summers where the monsoon activity wanes in late-August, but it's hard to predict. This week we have been getting pounded. SJ Ron
