Can anyone recommend hotels that are near the action? I see there are many stops near the shuttlebus route. What is the "American village"? Thanks in advance, from American guy in France!

 

The hotels 'near the action' would have been filled months ago.

Google hotels in Villach, its the town closest to Faaker...

And at this point, take what you can get. :-)

There are buses that will run you from town up to the rally, and around the different spots
on the lake. It's Austria so everyone is everyone is very **** and it's quite well organized.

The rally is actually broken into several sections, hence the villages.. the American village
is set up to display American culture, albeit with a European twist.

I went in '09.... it's not Sturgis, but it's not bad.

This is great info, thanks a lot. I knew I should have done this a long time ago but will see if we can pull it off. We were in Sturgis in '08 and haven't anything that compares.
