Just rode both these roads in the last couple days and I can truly say they are 2 of the most fun roads I have ever ridden.
Some technical sections on the 36 but it had a little of everything that a motorcyclist could ever want. I preferred the 96 more as it had more 4th and 5th gear corners.
If you're ever in that area I would highly recommend a spin on either road.
I take 36 all the time on my way to the Sierra Nevada Brewery!
Next time when your in that area, catch hwy 32 in Chico and head East if you want some real fun and scenic riding. We have some great riding in Northern CA, just to damn hot in the summer months!
