tp I don't know what I can tell ya. Natchez is a pretty town with a lot of antibellum homes there. Hit the trace and there is an old house where they use to board travelers. On up as mentioned are the Ruins of Windsor close to Lorman I beleive. The ruins are not on the trace but not far and probably worth it. If you were to visit the ruins google it up before you go. Also mentioned is the old store. I have never eaten there.
The speed limit is 50 mph. It has been many years since I rode on the trace, but the last time, I did get a ticket. Of course I deserved one as well.
On up the road is I beleive the old town of Rocky Branch. I think that is the name. We use to camp there as kids. All that is left there is the old church. Seems the soil eroded out from under the town.
A side trip would be Vicksburg, especially for civil war history. There is the battlefield to tour, town, the river, the old courthouse museum was a nice stop for me years ago.
The trace is a pretty ride, may be real pretty now with the leaves changing.
Great suggestions...! Thanks, and sorry to others if this appears to be a highjacked thread....
Is Ok, You also might want to cross Louisiana via US Hwy84 just before you get to the Red River go up and take a pickture of your bike where Bonnie and Clyde were ambushed. You could also cross the highest ppoint in Louisiana if you got off US Hwy 84 in Winfield, La to get to the Bonnie and Clyde marker. Leave here in Louisiana are falling mostly brown with a few colored ones thrown in. You got to eat at the old Store in Lorman it's best food around as far as I am concern and I live in the area.
From The Old Store Miss Hwy 552 to the Windsor ruins, but be sure and ride 552 all the way around to Port Gibson, Miss nice curvels and hills, then from Port Gibson go South to get back on the Trace , or turn North to go up to Vickksburg.
Don't waist your time going to the Pigout Inn BB-Q in Natchez nuttin to write home about. Try Fat Momma's or Big Momma's both are interesting.
You can always get ahold of me and I will make some miles with you ether Saturday oor Sunday. Look for rain Sunday night thru Tuesday

Some other riders from HDForum stayed in a real cool Bed and Breakfast in Natchez, they seemed well please, was walking distance to the Mississippi Rriver bluffs and some of the local taverns
Not sure if my pictures look as good as Pastor Johns from above but here's
