Ive been reading and am looking for some more help. Heading up towards Gatlinburg, Pidgeon Forge in june, but dont want to be directly in the middle of all the touristy stuff. Looking for a Cabin to rent but want to be able to zip towards Gatlinburg, Ashville to see the Biltmore and maybe towards the Dragon. Where is the best area to stay with proximity to all? and can anyone recomend a cabin or rental company? Need a cabin for 4 adults and two kids.

I just rented a cabin in the Bryson City area of N.C. Its smack dab in the middle of everything you just mentioned. 40min from the dragon too. 17min to Fontana Dam. 45min to Ashville and 80min from Pigeon Forge/Gatlinberg. Lookup VRBO on the net. Type in the area your looking for and you will see more cabins than you know what to do with. A member here has one of those but can't remember his name,I'm sure he will see this thread. I will be there for a week towards the end of June. Hope to see ya there. FT
I have been staying with fireside cabins the office is in pigeon forge but they have some cabins out wears valley road which is on the way to the foothills parkway(beautiful ride)which dumps out about a mile frome the start of the dragon on the tennessee side.Back to the cabins and company they are super nice people and the cabins are nice and resonably priced. The billtmore is awsome to.Hope this helps and have fun.Wish i was going.
I rented a cabin in Pigeon Forge last year. I found the info on the Tail of the Dragon website. Lots of lodging info and links there. The guy that has the cabin on this site I beleive it is listed in the classified section. I looked at it on the website and it looked pretty nice.
Rented a cabin from Timbertops last June, we stayed just outside of Gatlinburg loved the area and great riding. The road that lead to the cabin was not very motorcycle friendly but we managed. Timbertops also offered grocery shopping and delivery for you nice service you can preorder and things are then once you arrive.
I rather the other side of the mountain N.C. side), too much traffic on the north side, maybe make a trip to Pigeon Forge, but that's about it. Rather Cherokee, Bryson, Maggie Valley, etc. Still close enough for day trips to all mentioned.
