myrtle beach hotels
I can say I have not even been to Myrtle Beach for any reason since that incident, & I know of a few others that said they would never set foot there, & havent.
defend your home turf if you want.... we go elsewhere.
have fun though! and be safe!

have to agree, and it makes it really bad when the local abate chapter downs bikers.... a chapter officer and someone that claims to be his wife always posting comments in the local papers about how bad bikers are when they come to town, how dirty they are, noisy, etc etc etc...
seems the place to go now is NCs bike week which welcomes bikers with open arms.

they called in the National Guard, not because anything was wrong, but the year before, black bike week had been unruly, so they brought them in to keep every thing under control. the regular bike week had never been out of control like the black bike week was from my understanding.
the whole strip, on Ocean Blvd, had guardsman everywhere, you were not allowed to travel from south to north, it was completely blocked, you cold only cruise the strip from north to south, they had all but 3 side roads blocked off so once you got to the strip, you wasnt allowed to get off unless on one of the 3 designated roads. however all side roads you were allowed to get to the strip, mainly so you could get to your motel.
those that didnt want to fool with the major traffic jam, & went around baricade was given $200 tickets, well some pushed their bikes, still $200 tickets, unless you had broke down, & they were forcing guys to try to crank bike, & calling tow truck if bike had really broke down, or making guys leave them if they ran out of gas, & bring gas back.
all side roads from 17 business to 501, & shortcuts had baricades, & road checks at every one, you were asked why was you there, & if you didnt have a good reason, you were given tickets, you had to live on those roads, or at least be able to give them a address, otherwise you were not allowed to use, & were given a ticket, if you was dating someone in there, you better have the address. plus they tried to sniff breath of everyone that passed through.
at stop lights they were checking your breath to see if you had been drinking, got semi close to face & try to talk to you, a good "smelly" cigar counters that, on first night I got lucky, next days I drank after I was in for the night, but while riding & had not been drinking, several got a face full of smoke from me, lol.
the lady I was with that time, stood up on foot pegs a good part of the time & was yelling & cursing at them & giving middle finger every day. she had wanted to live in Myrtle beach, but after that she changed her mind, she now lives in SC, but not there & she says she has never been back to Myrtle.
those that went, & saw what I saw, I cant believe want to keep going? why on earth would you want to spend money & help theor economy? I understand rebelling, but dont help them! the best thing to do is to rebell like they want, stop coming, like they want, & not bring money there, or let them lose there source of revenue. I dont care if the business owners need bikers there, the people in office dont, & they need to elect new people in office & change, & then offer public apology to bikers. & I mean an offer of public apology in major bike magazines, which is what it would take for me to ever set foot there to spend cash in their town.
bad thing is I know 4 guys going right now to "bike week" 1 is old school like me, but wasnt there when the mess I mentioned happened, but they have access to a free place for a week, I was invited, but refused, as even free, I wont go there. they dont want my money, so why should I force them to take it? plenty of other places to go for vacation!
