Anyone else going to The Thunder in the valley shindig in Maggie Valley May4-6? Anyone been before? The boys and I are heading out on the 3rd for a few days of R&R. I was wondering if there were any must do's besides the obvious...Dragon, Wheels of Time. etc...etc. I've been to Murphy, Bryson City and Franklin, but not on the scoot...Are they biker friendly?

Thanks for the input! I have heard from several locals, that the Cherohala (Spelling) is one of the better rides out that way. We hope to hit the rally for at least Saturday...I have not had much input on the rally from people on this forum...I hope it's because they haven't been and not because it sucks and they feel sorry for me because I'm going!! We are staying at the Blue Ridge camp ground...That looks to be a cool place. We'll have a good time regardless.
Thanks again,
Chuck

Hey Dave,
we are leaving out of Raleigh @ 7am Tomorrow. 4 of us riding solo. SG,EG Road King and 1 Rice Grinder. I think our "Ride Planner"...I use the term loosely, is going to keep us off of interstate 40. Is exit 125/126 off of 40? Our campground is about 1.5 hrs from the rally so we'll most likely stay in that area the first night. Have you been to this rally? Would love to hook up with you guys at some point. Email me, I'll give you our contact info...Tell him to trade the Softail...He won't ever want to go back!
We are leaving on Friday at 9am takes us around 4.5 /5 hrs....and exit 125/126 is off 40.Yes this is the second time ...its a small rally with good bands and some venders but we go for the riding. Its not like they jack up the prices that much and you need to see the wheels through time at least once...a little pricy to get in but it is well worth it.you can E mail @ dplaw226@aol.com and will try to meet up.....there is a great Breakfast place in center of town can't remember the name but pretty much all you can eat for 6/7 bucks ....and its good cookin....ride safe hope to see ya there.....Dave
