Hey Fellas,
Just looking for some pointers on this area....getting ready to do a trip from Dover DE to Saranac Lake where we rented a cabin. Looking for good roads, good spots to eat and any other attractions that is a must see while we are there. We have some rides planned but usually wing it for everything else.
If it was me I would come up the Northway , Route 87, to Keene Valley. Nice ride through the mountains. Then when I head back I would go through the St Lawrence Valley along the river. Leave Placid, head to Malone, the take Route 37. You could stop at the Rez and gamble, or continue to Alexandria Bay along the river. Nice roads nice view. Go to Syracuse and stop at the Dinosaur BBQ. Bikers, beer, and kick *** chow. Other than that, bring bug dope.
Just rolling along Rte 3 and Rte 30 for starters, don't be afraid to take some back roads too.
That area is some of the most beautiful in all the northeast.
Get lost and find your way out and enjoy the roads less traveled.
