Our Summer Vacation
We left Yuma on 1 June and as we rode through Arizona we passed through Hope Arizona and when we left we saw this sign. Didn't know at the time but it was a premonition.

We then wound up in Congress and what else would you expect to see in Congress than this.

We then went on to Colorado and broke down in Alamosa Col. and got trucked to Pueblo to OutPost Harley Davidson and got it fixed and back on the road.
Eventually we got to Maryville Ten. planning to do the tail of the Dragon, Cherrola Sky way and BRP. But the news that night says 3 days of rain starting that night, and I don't think I want to go on those roads first time in rain. So the next morning we road half a day through the rain headed to Luray Va. to see the Luray Caverns. Caverns the next morning.
Entry

Us in the Cavern.

From there it was on to Harper's Ferry.

Then to Gettysburg.

Then to Valley Forge. This is Washington's Headquarters Building The only original building there.

Then to Fort McClary Maine

Then we spent some time visiting friends in Upper State New York. Then stopped at Lake Erie Harley Davidson for our 30,000 mile service and then to Auburn Ind. to visit more friends.
Went to Sturgis Mi. oh I guess that is the wrong Sturgis, unless you are like me one of those people who has no desire for the massive crowd at Sturgis SD.
Visited more friends in Cedar Rapids Iowa.
Then stopped in Nebraska at the Lewis & Clark Museum.

Then on to Dodge City.

And you cannot go to Dodge City with out stopping at the Long Branch.

And of course you must enjoy the entertainment.

And of course the rowdy cowboys and soldiers have to get in a gun fight with each other and the Law.

Then through part of Oklahoma.
On to New Mexico.

Then on to Arizona and we discovered that King Kong was buried on the Indian Reservation in North Eastern Arizona. He fossilized and his face is now visible from the highway!

And then Dinosaur Tracks!!

And then on through the mountains towards western Arizona.

Then back to Yuma.
Hope you enjoy the pictures.
More after the next three posts.

One of my local friends grew up there and gave me directions to where he grew up and told me how it was a historic part of the state so we went there also.
This was his parents house.

These were his neighbors.

And this was one of the streets just up the road from the house.

Maybe I should keep garlic handy when I'm around him?
