hwy 50 in Illinois and Indiana

hwy 50 in Illinois and Indiana
Im going to the bean blossom bikerfest in Indiana and was thinking of taking hwy 50 from central Mo. to indiana. I was wondering if anyone has traveled 50 in Ill and Ind and how it is for a motorcycle trip.

U.S. 50 in IL is an OK road to ride. Nothing great about it. You will find many different conditions. There will be several miles at a time in rural areas with little traffic. You will also find many areas of small towns running together with heavy traffic at some times of the day.
It won't be anything to write home about.

I live about 15 miles from Beanblossom and have traveled US 50 from Winchester VA to almost St. Louis. Great road you will have a good time. After you go through Bedford IN on US 50 continue East to Indiana 446. There will be a Marathon gas station on your lRight. Fill up there then.
Go North on IN 446 to IND HWY 46 then East to Nashville. TA NAshville go North on 135 to Bean Blossom. Great ride. Good Luck
