From Clifton north to Eagar, Az is wonderful. From Eagar you can choose a variety of routes to Las Vegas. You need to try and work in 89A between Flagstaff, Sedona and Jerome. Also, if you run up to I-40, route 66 is pretty much just a frontage road at best all the way to Arizona. In Arizona, some of the old Route 66 is still in service. I would run the slab all the way to Las Cruces and then start my enjoyable rides.

Ditto on 191. Best ride I have taken and that includes the Dragon. Just be careful just out if Clifton. Tar snakes on the road can be pretty hairy but they end after the quarry.And don't mis Sedona. Dress for the altitude in Flagstaff though.

Yeh but I would cut up 87 to Lake Murray Rd and go past Mormom Lake to Flagstaff. Then you could take a day to go from Flagstaff and ride to Sedona and spend the day before heading back to Flagstaff. Great way to break up the trip and take a break before heading out to Vegas.
