I was just up there last week and came back home on Friday/Saturday. May have even crossed paths a time or two. And yes, it was a bit chilly in the morning hours! I also understand that life can throw you some curve ***** from time to time. Sorry for the rough start to the year, been there done that. It always gets better. But good for you for not dwelling on it and making something memorable with your son. He is only that young once! I was in Gatlinburg last Wednesday with my girlfriend, it was both of our birthdays, and my 18 year old daughter called me to wish a Happy Birthday. While speaking with her we both reminisced of the last time that I was there in the Smokey Mountains was about fourteen years ago with her and her mother. I know how time passes so quickly, but that discussion really hit home of how quickly time really does pass. I wish I could have those years back!! Also always remember that if it has been a bad year for you, it is probably even tougher on your kids. Both you and your son will NEVER forget and will fondly remember the trip you both had for the rest of your days.
Great to spend that time with your son, as someone here already said the time goes quickly, i remember taking my son on bike camping trips when he was old enough, he is 33 now, we talk of those times alot, you can never go back cause you wish you had but you can always go back and remember you did, and the pics are priceless, Cliff
A few hundred miles and a million memories. Worth the price of a pair of boots I say. He must have curled up his toes. Good for you. Good for you both.
