The large fountain in Fountain Hills runs every hour on the hour from 8 AM to 8 PM, if I remember right. Each eruption lasts 10-15 minutes.

head up to Sedona, maybe the Grand Canyon, Jerome, Tucson has some nice roads.

I would avoid Sedona, Jerome and the Grand Canyon in January as it is cold and the weather is winter in nature. Come on down here to southern AZ where the traffic is far less.

The wife and I took a drive through Payson to Flagstaff and came back via 89a through Sedona about a week ago. As usual, we hit a 1.5 mile traffic jam going into Sedona. The north end of Sedona has a ton of tourist pedestrian traffic, and it takes forever to get through there. I had forgotten about this, but quickly remembered it's why I try to avoid Sedona.

Here are some of my southern Arizona destinations in the winter, Laughlin NV, Tombstone, Bisbee. Jerome and Sedona will be cold and you could even have some snow but doable if you check the weather conditions. Roue 191 has already gotten snow I got an email a moth ago from the area showing me their first snow in the area. Be warned Grand Canyon, Flagstaff and northern Arizona are places that get snow.
