Thanks all, I am interested in the ride but definitely plan on at least one night dedicated to the party......I called a couple of the hotes directly and one of them told me they didn't even set rates until April......I have heard Hill City is great. I want to be able to party if desired but don't look forward to heavy traffic to get out of town...Deadwood looks promising and I red there is a bus to Sturgis.

My group of lumpies and I stay in Deadwood. They have buses that run everywhere. But it is a really nice ride from Deadwood to the rally. Don't worry about where you stay. Just have a great time and be safe.

Are you planning on camping or staying at a Hotel?? If you are planning on camping. I stayed at www.hogheavencampground.com, and we had a great time. It is right outside of town. Literaly on the south side of 90, near the the Hill Climbs & Race Track. The riding is awesome, you can get breakfast in Deadwood. No need to head through town every morning, and the majority of riding you will want to do is south anyway. If you want to park your bike at the campground and ride to town, you can ride "dabus" with no worries of getting back safely. If camping you can ship your gear to and from the camp.
Stay at a camp-ground, Seriously. That's where the heart-beat of the rally is, really.
You'll meet some wayyyy coool folks, and may even pony-up w/them to go crusin.'
Lottsa cool campgrounds in the area.
No worries.
When we went two years back we stayed in Rapid City and because we like to party it was a mistake. This year we are staying right in Sturgis at the super8.
The Days Inn doesn't even start taking reservations until May 1....or so they say.
