First, i boot up the Mac and tether up if i am roadside. Sometime MR. Google gets me through it ;-)
Second, log on to hdforums and look for opinions, possible solutions, and resolutions.
Third, IF first and second option still has me in the pickle, call roadside (HOG or Progressive) i like to keep my options open! LOL
after all that i chalk it up as another adventure and continue on!
On a serious note though I have never been pulled over on the side of the slab and not have a fellow rider stop to make sure all is good! love the brotherhood!

I alway's buy the extra insurance from HOG. It also cover's hotel and rentals if needed. For me it is a good value as my insurance is $90.00 cheaper with HOG membership.
Yes, but your insurance carrier might offer better coverage. My current insurance does not offer tow insurance for my bike, so I rely on my HOG membership for that.
It was mentioned that people will stop and help and thats exactly what happened with my break down and this is Rusty who stayed with me till the tow truck came. I had to pay for a room anyway and he was on the road like me; I offered him a free room and we got some beer and food and had a good time talking story. You can have good stories from the road even when it's not going so well.
I would just get it fixed the fastest way possible. I usually carry the title with me on a long trip. That way if there's a catastrophic breakdown I could just trade it.
