Manitoulin Island Ontario

We are planning a trip to Manitoulin Island Ontario from the Detroit area through Windsor. I was wondering if anyone has any information on places to stay on the island. Also, about the ferry from Tobermory. Do they supply tie downs for the bike. Must see things on the island ,etc.

Don't forget your passport ... and a set of Soft Tie Down extensions for Fairing clearance ... I can't say that they do provide tie downs ... I know when I took the Badger Ferry we had tie downs ( I can't remember whether we used ours or theirs ) ... I do know that we tied our own scooters down.

We were their a couple years ago and spent two days at red lodge resort. Nice place right on the water with a restaurant and bar. Owners were really nice folks and the food was pretty good. Nice place to relax after a days ride. Don't know about the ferry as we rode around.

Yes the ferry has tie downs. We stayed in Manitowaning at a B&B called Willow Shores great spot on the water. Gord and Charlene are great hosts and allowed me to park my bike in their garage. Close to most things to do on the island. Bridal Veil Falls, Cup and Saucer trail and some nice roads to ride. The town has a liquor store and restaurants. Gord and Charlene will be able to direct you in the right direction with any advise you need.
