Default Utah trip---Phase 2

Any additional advice on the Utah segment would be appreciated...Will be there between the 20-26 of June....Should I book motels in advance???

Day 6
Cortez hwy 160 W to Kayenta, 163 (monument valley) to Mexican Hat, Hwy 261 N (Gooseneck, Mogi Dugway), 191 N to Moab.. 310 miles. Is this too long of a ride to be stopping and seeing things or is most of it just "riding thur"????

Day 7
Moab to Arches Nat Pk; then to Cayonlands Nat Pk; then to Green River for the night. I figure about 200 miles which include riding thur the parks.
Can you see most things "riding thur" or should I plan on staying 2 nights in Moab and spend a whole day in each park??

Day 8
Green River to 24 SW to Torrey, Hwy 12 to Tropic and Bryce Canyon Nat Pk... 210 miles + about 40 miles in park.

Day 9
Tropic S 89 to Zion then to Kanab. 150 miles

Day 10
Kanab to Grand Canyon North Rim then 89 S to Flagstaff 290 miles

Thanks for any suggestions....

I'd add at least one more day into this leg as you're going to be stopping to see the views / take pics so often
that you'll either kick yourself later for not stopping or be ridding well into the night to make your schedule after
all the "unplanned delays"..

Just sayin'....

I would book my rooms in advance near the National Parks. They will be busy during the time you are there. Arches NP you can ride through, most of the arches are right off the road. Canyonlands is more suited for hiking.

Keep in mind that US-89 between Page AZ and Bitter Springs AZ is closed indefinitely due to road damage.

If you are going from Kanab UT to the North Rim, that's Hwy 89A, and after you cross Navajo Bridge at Marble Canyon, you will hit 89 at Bitter Springs. You'll be fine as long as you're going to Flagstaff. If you want to go to Page, you'll have to go back through Kanab to get to Page.

Hope this helps you. Have a great ride! Southern Utah and AZ is some of the most awesome country you'll ever ride through.

I would have preferred a whole day in Moab myself. You can see a lot just driving through Arches, but the most iconic and photographed arch requires a short hike. Lots to do in Moab area.

The only thing worth spending any time at between Kayenta and Moab is Monument Valley. I spent about an hour at the visitor's center taking photographs of the mittens. To see Monument Valley though, you need to take a guided tour.
