Hello!
I’m from Russia. I and my friends are going to have a trip to southwest of the USA this autumn. We are going to buy motorcycles before we will have arrived. And the question is – will it be possible to ride motorcycles with salvage title? Can there be any problems with this? Is it possible to make insurance for 2 weeks? What documents do we need and what we need to do?
To my knowledge salvage titled bikes can be registered and legally ridden with no problem.
The problem is if the repairs were done properly. If a bike has a salvage title that means there was very extensive damage done to the bike at some time and it has since been repaired. I would be very concerned about buying a salvage titled bike without a careful (preferably professional) inspection first. And there is no way I'd buy a salvage titled bike and have my first ride on it be cross-country through the desert. Just my $.02.
it has alot of great information for riders out of their country or riders going to a different country to ride and most of the information is current
i dont know about the salvage title but the other stuff like insurance will be on their. hope you enjoy your ride in the states.

I say "rent" vs. "buying" would work best for your situation. Depending on how long you plan to stay/ride, is there any compelling reason for dumping all that ca$h for a "one-time" trip...???

To rent a harley You will need a credit card with minimum $2000 limit They will use that money as insurance deposit. Then purchase extra insurance policy out. Because if you drop an flh. It will exceed the $2000 in damages. Its not uncommon for these bikes to fall over!!!?! Just saying $$$))
Thanks a lot for your answers!
I want to buy because I want to transfer it to Russia after our trip. I think about salvage because it's cheaper. I've found that one http://wisconsin.freecycleshopper.co...e-classic.html
what you think? Can it be true?
Thanks a lot for your answers!

Something doesn't look right here. This bike looks pretty nice but is priced well below its market value in my opinion. These kinds of ads are often placed by scammers (thieves)....so be very careful here. Maybe someone in the area could help you out and verify this bike exists as advertised.
