When you come to Daytona, you get-what-you-get. If you just come to cruise main street...you will find it a little less crowded than in the 80's and 90's. Iron Horse is still the place I like to hang out...never know who you will see there. Stop by the International Speedway and test ride all the major manufacturers bikes.
But if you come to ride...take highway A1A (beachside) and ride south to the Lighthouse,
check out Inlet harbor resterant. Take A1A north to St Augustine...the nations oldest city. Ride to Ocala (west of daytona), some pretty riding through horse farm country.
Take US1 south to Cocoa beach. Stop at Kennedy Space Center. There is also a Police Hall of Fame near there. Find a place that has air boat rides....see some aligators in the wild. But if you just want to check out the 'beer tub' girls at Froggy's Saloon on Main Steet..that's cool too. Might see you there.
We are leaving Lindale, TX at noon on Friday March 7th... We are planning to ride.. But IF the weather is nasty, we'll be putting them on a trailer and drive Southeast !
Rented a house in Ormond Beach.. Last year, we only had 3 days down there.. We're staying the whole week this year.
Daytona is like any other bike trip you make...its as good as you want to make it. I love riding to Daytona and has always been one of my favorite trips. This is only the second time my wife is coming with me and the activities are a little different than with the guys. Leaving out Tuesday morning the 11th....ride safe
I'll be there! It's been a few years since my last Bikeweek. The winter here in Northeast Ohio has been horrendous this year. I need sunshine and I need it soon. I'm putting King in the back of the truck. I'm going to drive to Columbia SC and ride in from there. I'm staying at Palm Coast which puts me real close to my favorite place which is Flagler Beach. I like to sit near the pier and watch the bikes come and go. Up A1A there is a rooftop bar where I sit and watch bikes go by. I'm good for a half day on Main Street. I'll probably make a run to Rossmeyers and St Augustine. I really like to ride A1A between Ormond and St Augustine and the loop. I decided to come in early (3-5-14) and get out before things get to crowded. I'll be heading back to Columbia on 3-10-14. Might stay an extra day if the weather is nice. You all ride safe and I'll do the same!

This will be my maiden voyage to Daytona for bike week. I'll be heading out from Tulsa on the 10th, leaving on the 17th for work in Orlando for another week. My brother is supposed to be joining me and while I slave away for the week in Orlando he is going to head to the Keys. I have a trailer but I already told him rain or cold we go, snow - well we will trailer then to somewhere out of the weather and ride. Looking forward to being able to ride there though. It's not the destination, but the journey to me.
Counting down day by day. I am so tired of the weather up here I've got to get a heavy dose of vitamin D ASAP! Let's hope for good Daytona weather this year, as others have already said, it can get pretty shitty in Northern FL this time of year. If the weather turns bad, we may just keep heading south all the way to Key West!
