Default tetons lodging help

The SO and I are planning on riding up and spending a couple of days hiking in the Tetons. We'd like to be near great hiking but stay somewhere where we can enjoy a few beers and decent meal at night without driving. I'd love to do one of the big log lodges, but prices are steep up that way! So I'm thinking in a cool town or village. Jackson Hole? Any tips? We'll prob overnight in Rock Springs the night before, so coming in from the south.

Thanks!

I stayed at the Four Winds in Jackson and found it to be clean, reasonable and within walking distance to restaurants, shops and bars. AAA recommends it also.

Several motels in Jackson Hole, all prices are about normal.

Here is what I discovered. Someone left the ice box door open. I was there twice in July in different years, and it was below freezing in the mornings both days. Take warm clothes and a good camera.

I usually stay at the Antler Inn when I visit Jackson Hole. Price is right and it's comfortable. It's right in town and there are shuttles to the hill run often during ski season anyway.

I stayed here 4 nights last June and while a little basic, the room was nice, clean, well-kept up, friendly staff
and, (at least while I was there), EXCELLENT meals.

It's about a 5 minute ride from the South entrance into the Grand Teton Park so it was very convenient as well.

Try Cowboy village nice cabins and lodge right in town. Another alternative is Driggs Id. other side of the Tetons (33mi. away) a lot cheaper rooms than Jackson Wy.

We stayed here for two nights in August 2013:

http://virginianlodge.com/

Good rates for the area, bar and restaurant on the grounds. Downtown was like 30 seconds up the road. "Million Dollar Cowboy Bar", very dangerous place. Lots and lots of Jack, do not try and drink it all!!! All the ladies in denim skirts and cowboy boots. Good food downstairs, Buffalo Ribeye and Elk are a must try. Great shoe shine upstairs in the bar. Very biker friendly.

Just don't try and drink all of the Gentleman Jack!!

Sounds like a fun place. Cheapest rates here are $130 too. Way to high for 1 person
