GNP is one of the nicest (IMHO) rides in US of A.
We've been there three or four times and twice we got caught in 42 degree weather in downpours in July!
If you have the time and money, cross the border into Canada (and tour Waterton Park) and then westward to Lake Louis and Banff and Jasper Parks.
Glaciers and cool riding. Be sure to bundle up with leathers and rain gear as needed.

i used ta live across the river from the park,,,,,,, it was great till the fire....... MY FATHER-INLAW AND I HAD TA STAY IN A MAKE-SHIFT BUNKER FOR 25 MINUTES WHILE IT BURNED OVER THE PROPERTY, THEN I WAS A SOLID SIX HOURS OF FIGHTING HELLS WRATH

Hard to believe that was June!!! We were there last year at the end of August, it was almost hot, definitely warm. Just long sleeve shirt, no jacket. I had heard that it could be like what you witnessed, I guess we dodged a bullet. great pictures.
