Independence Pass
Coming from Australia and never seen snow before, let alone ride in snow it was great
I have been over it a few times in a variety of cages and twice on a Harley. It is just breathtaking ( literally) and best taken slow both to stay alive and enjoy what you might miss if cranking on it. I find it less challenging, more relaxed on the bike than a cage. I have been caught up there by unexpected snow in a car, not fun, and I was raised in snow.
When you come down take a right and stop for a burger or soup down the road a bit, little wood framed "cottage". On the Aspen end there is a little stucco sandwich/pastry dive on the main drag by the park. The BBQ place back up the street on the other side is pretty good at less than Aspen prices. Sorry for being vague, but finding stuff is half the fun.

We've had a lot of late snow this year and last. I'm not even sure Trail Ridge road in RMNP is open yet. Mother's day dropped 3+ feet of snow above 10k feet over most of the state.
Glad you Aussies got to see the snow banks. They are quite a sight to see, especially in June with sunny skies.
Thanks for sharing the pics
