Looking to pick one up for my bike (2014 SGS), but I don't want to just throw anything on there. I want a fitted one like Harley used to sell. I've looked at Alaska Leather and they don't sell bike specific pads, just multi-fit ones. Does anyone know where I can get what I'm looking for, or if there's a specific Alaska Leather size that will be close to fitted?
Alaska Leather pads don't come made specifically for one or another seat and since they lay on top of the seat with their strap underneath it there really isn't a need to have one cut to exact dimensions. I have one for the driver and passenger pillion and they work great...going on several years now. Good luck on your search.
Short length of stretch cord tide under the seat and over the front of the sheepskin. Rear is secured with two very small bungees thru holes punched in the leather.
BONUS: pack a pillowcase and your sheepskin rolled up inside makes a great pillow.
I use a full sheepskin that I cut to fit the seat, Velcro strap to keep it in place - much like Fisheadsaid's version only black. And it does make a great pillow!
Check out wildthings furs in Rockton WI. I picked up a sheep skin with a gel pad for the wife. It's not specific to the bike but looks and works great. I got the red and black tanned hide which matches the bike color. Great people to work with.
Alaska Leather has a large variety of shapes and sizes. Choose the right one and it will fit like custom cut. I use a large and it's perfect. They also provide excellent customer service. I highly recommend them.
