I have a 2009 Ultra CVO.. Bike has "adjustable pushrods" and has 14k miles on it. At 1000 miles ago they were adjusted. Yesterday after riding for about 15 minutes I heard this "chirping" type noise in the base of the engine. I garaged it & just started it up a moment ago. Same noise. Not going to ride since I don't know what is causing this. Proper amount of oil in it. I use Red Line and have for years. Any suggestions or points to ask about are appreciated before I trailer it to the shop.

I have a 2009 FLTRSE. I heard the same chirping noise. Brought bike in to service. Engine is toast. That noise is your piston rubbing inside your cylinder head. There was a secret class action lawsuit regarding this matter back in 2010. All participants in the suit had to sign a non-disclosure agreement. I contacted the firm and the case is closed. I contacted HD directly and they refuse to remedy the problem. Long story short my engine is on it's way to revolution performance to be rebuilt. This issue occurs between 14,000 and 18,000 miles. The 110's have a design flaw. The company's solution to it is making the 110's liquid cooled.
If you do a google search you can find the case. The name of the firm is Lief Cabraser. I will never buy another bike from HD.

Sounds like the infamous 110 lifter roller failure. If you're sure it's coming from the bottom of the engine then you shouldnt run it anymore to prevent spreading the shavings throughout the engine via the oil, if it isnt too late already.

I had that. I got whole new cam chest thanks to ESP.
Tomorrow my 2007 CVO RK will be dropped again for the 2nd time this year for issues starting. The bikes makes some wonderful noises attempting to start it. But thanks to HD ESP, I will pay $50.
One thing I learned from this forum is that if you get a used CVO bike...get the ESP. HD paid out well more than I paid for the cost. Hence why I bought another 3 years. I bet that the cost of whatever i am dropping off for tomorrow will easily be $500-1000 parts/labor.
Thank god i have 3 bikes. I see an Indian in my future.
