Just purchased a new to me 2015 RG Ultra CVO. I have been a member of this forum for quite sometime moving through different boards according to what bike I owned at the time.
Fat boy section, SG, Flhtk, Trike, and now CVO, theres really no where else to go.
Can someone help me finding out how to get the free upgraded Maps, software version on the boom was from 2015, so the previous owner never upgraded software so I'll assume the same for maps.
Did you receive the owner's manuals with the bike? The Boom!(tm) Box has its own manual, about the same size as the one for the bike itself. The procedure to acquire and update the maps on your CVO is outlined there (3 free in 5 years). In my documentation, that is the "Upgrading Database" section, and it begins on page 179 (I have a 2015 FLHXSE). I've done one update myself and the process is a bit clunky but it worked.
Verifying the Database Version is also in the manual, page 178. On the Boom device: Home > Setup > System Information > Navigation > Database.

Thanks, I checked and it seems I have the NACVO MY 2015. Would this be the latest?
According to the book that came with my 2015: "For CVO models, three navigation map database updates can be downloaded for free over a five year period." (Updating Database, page 179, Boom! Box owner manual)
Great. That's better than my thinking of 2 yrs, which didn't makes since they are only updated every couple yrs. thanks for the correction
Yes, definitely. I've updated once, in 2016. I'll probably grab another update around the 3 year mark and then the last one right around 5 years.

Glad it went smoothly for you. I don't remember having many troubles myself, besides a little monkeying around with finding a USB drive the NaviExtras software and the bike both liked. Once I got that set and got the fingerprint from the Boom! system downloading the update worked as advertised. Applying the update to the Boom! head unit does take some time.

Well apparently the new software does not play nice with any update, POI will put you In black screen and so will the map update.
