In the latest HOG magazine there's an article about the 2018 CVO models. They write that the Milwaukee-Eight 117 engine is exclusively for the 2018 CVO models. What do they mean by that? ONLY for 2018? What for the next years?
The Custom Vehicle Operations abbreviation CVO line is the highest designed and priciest factory option bikes. They always are a step ahead or should say bigger motor factory. And who knows what next years Motor is till next run 2019 which will be announced 2018 August-September typically. And good chance stays the same so I wouldn’t hold my breath on a dramatic do over for 19 models. My 2 cents worth.
And this is a Road Glide CVO 117 2018 model.

..... wasn't the 114 the CVO motor in the '17 model year ?
.... that would make the 117 in the 2018's exclusive to the '18s, cuz there ain't no '19s yet.
........... marketing !!
I was disappointed that the 2017 CVO Limited was a one year CVO 114" build, but it looks like the MOCO may think the 114" is worth saving. I hope so, with 10.5-1 CR, a torque cam and a download, these things run better than the sum of their parts. I hope the 117" run as well or better.

I think the 114 in the CVO had to get bumped up as soon as the MoCo decided to let the 114 be and option in some softtails. They can not have a standard model with the same size motor as the CVO.

In 2016 they had the slim and fat boy with the 110, same as the 2016 CVOs. Hard to tell what the're thinking anymore
