Can anyone give me some optional locations to install my FIN USA GPS Locator? I purchased it form an East Coast Harley Dealer at substantial savings. My local Dealer refuses to install it and I refused to pay their almost $900 installed price. So far I have been unable to get any Dealer to even give me a hint. The installation instruction state the device's internal antennas will be able to get signal through plastic, glass and the like, but metal objects can interfere. I hate to run constant power under the gas tank to the front fairing. But that seems to be the best location for unobstructed transmission/reception.
if you look at a plate under the seat, part of the frame, between your engine heat deflectors, there is a good flat spot to mount it, I mounted my 12 v accessory plug there on my roadking. if it is water proof
Thank you for the response. Looking at the area you described looks like it might have an issue with the seat unless I misunderstood. 2018 CVO Limited Under Seat
I'd like to mount it somewhere that is not obvious. I'm thinking under the Fuel Tank Console if it is not metal. So far a magnet won't adhere.

My next thought is to remove the Fuel Tank and run the wiring forward finding a suitable location in the inner/front fairing. I should receive the unit and be ready to install this weekend
Underneath all that stuff, if you were to remove the battery and the ecm's, you would see the plate, or you can look up from below directly underneath everything in that picture. Kinda above the starter area.
