Terry--

I haven't posted on HDF in years, except for the Classifieds to sell stuff. However, I had an '04 Police Model EG that eventually evolved into an Ultra Classic Street Glide with 2006 and newer components.

Among the newer components were HD's 2006 Cruise Control (an essential accessory for long rides IMO); 2007 and up Brembo front brake calipers (exceptional increase in braking compared to HD's OEM for '06 and older models); CVO spun aluminum gauges; and other cosmetic and audio mods too numerous to mention here.

The Brembo front callipers I considered a safety issue and they are a simple bolt-on swap and relatively inexpensive.

The HD cruise control for '06 was a one year accessory for reasons I don't recall at the moment that was standard equipment on Ultras. I bought my cruise module from a dealer, but they soon became very hard to find, especially after HD discontinued their manufacture.

I also added the Harmon Kardon radio in order to add the CB and Ipod modules. This required a bit of work with the interconnect harness since the HK radio used a 35 or 36 pin connector (I don't recall exactily as I type this) and not the 23 pin connector used on '05 and earlier models. They're both AMP connectors and the parts and tools necessary for the wiring are readily available. There are probably a few posts on the topic in the Touring forum.

In any case, good luck with your project and looking forward to reading of your progress.

At 90mph I'm surprised there's anything on the bike that's useable. I'd like to see a pic of the bike after that crash.
