Ok i really want cruise control on my bike, not a fan of the thumb screw. So how much does real cruise control cost and can i do it myself?
06 Electra Glide
Thanks
Steve in Ct
I have it on my 2010 FLHTK. Use it every time I ride, would not buy another street bike without it (still ride dirt bikes). I have been thinking of buying a new Heritage (miss my old Evo powered one) especially since you can now get ABS brakes on the soft tails, but like I told a salesman recently "I'll hold off until HD puts electronic cruise control on em at the factory". I just don't understand why they don't. On my FLHTK and on my Corvette the cruise controls have saved me countless speeding tickets and my sanity.

Bike comes standard with cruise. It is the simple never break mechanical cruise thumb wheel. It is located below throttle and can lock throttle with a thumb push from below when properly adjusted and released with a single index finger pull fom above. Why people pay extra for electric is beyond me. Worked great on my FXDC and currently on my FLHTP. Easy to operate without a glance. Comes instintive and can be done in less than a second. Use it all the time when I have to adjust something like a mirror.

That's all well and good for adjusting mirrors, giving your throttle hand a sec to relax or a long flat stretch. But a locked throttle setting like that doesn't work going up and down the hills... I've never owned or ridden a bike with cruise but everyone says its the bees knees!
