Hey fellas, Im upgrading my 117" with a 128" top end as my winter project. I'm currently running the Redshift 468 cam with all the S&S interior trimmings... Can anyone give me any insight if with this upgrade I should keep the same cam or go bigger and if bigger, recommendations on the cam? Thanks
Beautiful bike, NICE upgrade. I've watched a few of the Zippers videos and I would be asking those guys. They really seem to have the knowledge to provide good advice.
Yes it will work there's128's out there with that cam who are very happy with it. However their RS472 or the hi lift RS552 are probably better cams at 128.
I am in the middle of a 128 build on mine, and I too have the RS468. I decided to stay with it for the 128.
I was torn! I know I could get more, but I really didn't want to push the limit of the trans any further. I ride pretty hard, and have a trip across the country coming up, and just didn't want any issues.
If I regret it, I will go bigger after that trip. I want to see how it handles a hot summer with this cam.
I have learned the hard way on other engine builds...power costs, and not just the initial price of the parts.
