What is wrong with this site for downloading photos lately. Takes way to long.

One of our favorite rides. Back in 2009 I was giving a tour of that area to a couple of guys from Canton, Ohio with Timken bearing. We left Statesville, NC and got into rain quickly. Rode Hwy 80 from Marion to the BRP and up to the top of Mt. Mitchell. It was so foggy up there that we could only see the yellow line on the road and about 5 ft ahead. We rode the BRP to Asheville and got on the main roads to Robinsville. Spent the night at the Two Wheel Inn and it rained all night long. Got up with intentions of riding the Skyway. The rain stopped and we rolled. At 2000 feet visibility was low, at 3000 feet if was very poor and at 4000 feet and above it was zero. I was leading and could see the yellow line and my Garmin on the handlebar Mount. I’m running 20 mph, one bike is following my tail light and the last bike following the middle tail light. Two deer walk out across in front of me and I could have reached out and petted them. We got back down below 3000 and stopped for a minute. I asked if they saw the deer and they just laughed! What deer?

At Tellico Plains we had lunch and those guys parted ways toward Knoxville to head north. I Road the Skyway back across and it had cleared up. Good memories!
I love the Cherahola Skyway and ride it many times a year, its TN side start is 72 miles from home. Another favorite in the area is the Foothills parkway, even better now that the missing link was opened in the Fall last of 18. Many great rides in this area.

Well I rode with a friend yesterday. We rode 262 miles up though Big South Fork National Recreation area. Great hilly curvy ride, on a 68 degree day, perfect. Plan to ride today also.
