Default CVO seat question

Posted this on the touring forum but no responses. Does anyone think the CVO seats are too hard? I have a 2019 CVO RG and can’t find the comfort zone on it. I also have a 2011 RGU and the hammock seat is perfect, comfortable, has that step up for the passenger, can I swap seats between these bikes? Anyone think it will look out of place? I might get a tour pack when someone can paint one for me in the CVO scheme, then it won’t look bad at all.

I cannot get comfortable on my ‘19 CVO SG seat. I too have used the Hammock seats on several bikes and they are very comfortable. I have recently purchased a Freedom seat from https://badboyzcyclez.com/ but it’s to early for me to recommend. I’ve only used it about 100 miles.
As for looks sometimes you have to decide in look over comfort. I think the hammock seat looks a little big without a tour pack but if I’m riding hundreds of miles I’ll choose comfort.

I've been on numerous 3-4 state trips on my 2019 cvo sg and have no issues at all with the stock seat. Butts are like opinions, everyone's are different. My issue was the floorboards being tucked in too narrow, once I moved them out 1.25 inches with a spacer kit I could open up more and the seat was fine then.

Agree - it's a butt thing and each one is different. That said, my butt could not take my stock CVO seat for more than 90 minutes.

First my wife complained about the seat comfort on the long rides, so I got her a Air Hawk Cruiser R Small Cushion. Then i was starting to have a problem on long rides so I bought a Air Hawk Cruiser R Small for myself Both problems solved. You can inflate them up to 2". I run between 1/4" to 1/2" and we are satisfied. The R model has a void right in the center that does not place any presser on tailbone, *******, prostrate. You can find them cheaper on ebay, craigslist or on this site. https://airhawk.net/product-category...rley-davidson/

Thanks for the advice. I hate the stock CVO seat to the point I don't ride the bike. First I will try to mount the Ultra seat on the CVO and see how it looks and feels. From there I will see if there is a compromise in an aftermarket seat that looks good and feels better then the stock. I am still trying to find someone that can reproduce the stock paint scheme on a tour pack, I have the docking kit and a 1cmcmotorsports El Rey backrest so swapping will be easy.

I am also going to get a set of DK Products floorboard spacers. I have them on the Ultra and they do make the ride more enjoyable.

These are the ones I used, most of the ones I could find were only 3/4 of an inch and I wanted more, these are 1.25 inches and they made a very nice difference for me.

Kazu, I was Stationed in Hilo Hawaii from 1973-1975 while in the USCG, Search and rescue. Recently married. It was a 2 year honeymoon. And every 6 weeks we would sail to Oahu for stand by search and rescue. Best 2 years of our life! Bought my first bike over there.

thanks, I’ll take a look at those. The DK is 1” but maybe the extra 1/4” will also make it easier to clean the exhaust!
