Had my dealer install the Stage II SE-585 cams in my 2015 FLTRUSE and was impressed with the additional low end torque. Although Stage II instructions indicate the valve springs need to be replaced with stiffer ones, a bit of research indicates that's a "cover their butt" over-kill recommendation for this particular cam. Even though the dealer tech had no issues not installing stiffer springs, I keep my rev's away from the redline. My ESP (non-Harley) advised I'd only have a "problem" if it was clear any damage claim was as a result of the SE-585 installation. Of course, that's not in writing

Reason: Clarification
Your ESP will not cover any upgraded items unlress installed before or limited time after delivery. But most likely ESP wil pay the equal price OE and labor depending realationship with the dealer.
Well that's what I mean it will cover the HD stuff any extra will have to come out of my pocket. So if 255 cams are 100 but se585 are 120 I'm responsible for the 20
I had a 117 kit added when the dealer rebuilt the engine, and had them sub in the SE595 instead of the SE259 that came with the kit. Great low end power with 100ft/lbs from 2200RPM and a nice, flat curve to 5500RPm, topping out at 126 ft/lbs. The bike absolutely scoots getting on the freeway. I like the cam.
My goal in getting the build done was to end up with a bike that runs like it should (lower temps, fix known issues, good fuel economy) and tame enough to be excellent for touring or parking lot maneuvers…i wasn’t interested in high compression or drag racing.
I had the 117 Stage IV kit done to my CVO Road King and used the Harley kit but replaced the crappy lifters, added a improved spring that fixes the low oil pressure on these Twin Cams and substitutes the 259 cams that came in the kit with 585 cams. The bike runs amazing and fuel economy has not suffered at all. I believe the Stage IV kit came with new valve springs. I already had a SE race tuner on the bike and they dyno tuned it as part of the deal. Had it done during winter and got 20% off all the parts too.
