Default 2008 Road King Screaming Eagle rebuilt Title

I am looking at a 2008 RK CVO the price is really good, but the bad to find out it has a rebuilt title. I have never had a rebuilt anything and not sure about it other than having problems selling it in the future. The seller said that the bike fell off a motorcycle lift and the insurance deemed it salvage and it was certified and now has a rebuilt title. Any thoughts if I should buy or stay away. Thanks

Not something I would be interested in, but that's just me.. If the insurance co. deemed it salvage because it fell off a lift, I would think there should be some kind of paper work stating just that... Just my 2 cents..

Check w/ your state laws regarding salvage or rebuild titles. I know my state requires the State Police to certify/inspect that it's meets the certain guidelines.

Can be a PIA to register any vehicle whether it's a motorcycle or cage.

A friend of mine rebuilds about 3 bikes a year that insurance companies have decided to total out. He’s very selective about what he buys and typically he only needs to replace the shiny stuff with quality OEM replacements. I know many people who have bought bikes from him over the years and none have had any problems. His own personal bike is a 2019 SG that he rebuilt last year that only had about 1,500 miles on the odometer. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy a bike from him, but then again I’d have the advantage of being able to see the extent of the damage prior to the rebuild. My credit union has no issues financing the buyers of these salvaged title bikes. Resale down the road will obviously be less than a clean title so you’d need to make sure you buy it at a good price. Just my 2 pennies

I'm at 30 cents on the dollar for a salvage title bike as compared to what it's worth NADA Excellent.
