Default CVOs Signed & Numbered

I know this is a crazy question but I have get to the bottom of this. I have been told by 2 different people that all CVOs are signed and numbered. No, I do not mean numbered as in the VIN. I have a CVO and my bike is not signed or numbered anywhere. Obviously these guys are incorrect. The question is, was there ever such a practice wherein CVOs were signed and numbered?

I don't think that is true for all CVOs. I have not seen that on any CVO that I have owned, including the current one. That is not to say that there are not some that aren't.

My 2006 VRSCSE2 was signed. I don't remember seeing a number. But that was when they actually took time to hand put the CVOs together and only a couple people worked on doing that. I had heard these practices are long gone.

The CVO bikes were assembled on their on separate line through the 2009 Model year. The bikes were assembled by two people from start to finish. These people had a minimum of ten years building Harleys before being selected to work the CVO line. The bikes up to and including 2009 were signed by the two people building them.

2010 CVO and new run down the regular production line. Not signed or numbered. Anniversary CVO models were numbered, like my CVO King. Its on the dash for all to see.

I've seen special paint jobs numbered on the tail end of the gas tank.

I saw a video with a master tech yesterday saying the 2021 was hand built by one tech and painted by one tech and there're signed and numbered. No idea if true or not.

Is it possible the 2021 CVO models are being built like they used to in 2009 and prior years?

YES, mine has a serial number and I signed the contract to make payments. Hope that helps. I was told also that it is #1. LOL
