I was kind of afraid that may be the case, I also wonder if KW and Lincoln have some sort of lock down on that color as well, a patent or something to prevent just anyone from using it.
Over the last several years HD has had different Chrome Colors. Brushed, Smoked and Scorched, any idea who does the plating for HD or where I could get a air cleaner cover coated in Scorched Chrome? Really dont want to use black and chrome will be way to bright.

Update, I did find this place and there is a chance they did the OEM plating, but will not do plating for individuals.
