I'm leaning towards the legendary orange at the moment.

I loved the legendary orange but at the time, I didn’t think it was worth an extra $6k. So I ended up with the copperhead and I have the road glide.

i have 12k miles on mine (bought in March) and have had zero motor issues. Just some stereo updates and no issues with it in a few months.

i do not regret paying $50k out the door and have been very happy so far!

I had a 117 before i had a vvt engine

it's only 4 more cubic inches

the performance gains from adding vvt technology were impressive and noticeable....you can have more TQ and HP from harley's 131 or an aftermarket alternative, but as for out of the box stock engines, it seems to be a solid engine and it had some giddy-up to it

I'm cynical so take it for what it's worth. How much "performance" do you need from a touring bike? VVT, to me, is more to get customers dependent on the dealer for service than it is for performance gains. Change my mind.

VVT has been around for decades. When properly implemented it eliminates the need performance cams. They can run from mild to wild, just based upon how they are set up. Hopefully though, HD implemented it properly. What’s next? Direct injection? VVT & DI are part of how manufacturers get huge HP from small motors.

respectfully please consider …it helps with emissions…and will help them get past standards both here and abroad

I'm sure I can't change your mind. However the 117 was not enough for me so A friend and I built the motor to 130". It was a blast, 167 torque and 163 HP. Put 40K on that build, much more fun the the first 20K on the stock motor.

This VVT is much better than the stock 117. More fun than the 117 for sure but nothing like the built motor. Went performance mods are available for VVT it should be a real blast.

The VVT rips. No ramp up to max power. When you whisky the throttle it feels like it goes straight to max power and stays there as it continues to rev to the next shift. I liken the power band to my WR450F, twist and hang on. If you had enough open space you might even get fist pump. (use up all the lactic acid in your finger muscles from hanging on and causing your forearms to burn like a bitch)

I have this ECM, Installed and Dyno tuned by my builder, Completely transforms the VVT, Power everywhere, Also gets rid of the Nanny on our bikes, It removed the speed limiter also the Jiffy stand sensor, 120+++ consistently and gets there very quickly..I have no plans what so ever for Internal upgrades as this ECM has given me more then I need..A plug and play option with immediate results, although I recommend a Dyno tune by a competent tuner. Also outstanding customer service..
