I have a 2007 SERC and it has a vibration at 2500 RPS and higher. the New 110 CI has lots of problems such as high heat, leaking head gaskets, and crank run- out.Crank run out. The crank on my stock bike is out by 0.020. The stock crank run -out setting should be less than 0.002.I hope that HD fixed the 08 110 CI if notthey will be replacing my engine with just more dam junk. This is not my 1stHD its my 3rd, I love the bike I'm just mad at HD fornot coming forward and saying that some of the 110 CI hasweak crank shafts. My 2007 was one of the last builds in 07 it was built June 6th 2007 and they started on the 2008 CVOs on July 1 2007.

This is really sad. Too many of the same problems happening here. You would think that they'd beat the crap out of these things and find the weak points before letting them loose on the market. For the time being there's warranty, but what about down the road. They aren't meant to be driven by old ladies on Sundays.

Thanks for the input, guys. love the CVO, but just too leary of the 110 motor. Made a deal, have a regular 105th ultra with the 103 stage 2, a tourpack rack, the audio amp that goes under the tourpack, the good backrest, and a set of hwy pegs, supposed to ship on 23 nov, even with delays, i should have it to play with by Christmas.
Best of luck with those 110's you guys have, for 35K, they really should be right, out of the crate.
And Keith H., I'm aretired Air Force MSgt also, 73-96, retired at Offutt AFB, stayed in the Omaha area.

I have a SERK with less than a 1K miles on her and had chrome, paint issues. Now in for a crank out of whack! What a POS!

we have a 08 here now that has a leaking head gasket ( it has the MLS H/G) and pings like a monster. Customer has had it back to dealer 3 times for ping issue and once for oil leak. He was told that minor oil seepage on the CVO 110 is normal and not to worrie about it... HMMM well if the dealer says so it must be HA HA . Anyways we where able to install a sert and down load a map and the ping is gone, ( that was easy) as for the oil leak, the customer is planning on having us pull it down and see what we find. bike has less than 1000 miles on it. Upgrades SE air cleaner kit and bassani slip ons.

Were the SE air kit and slip ons done before or after the SERT? The way I read this is that upgrades were done prior to a SERT install and remap, causing a lean engine to run even more so, thus causing excessive heat, leaks and pings.

Well yes the parts where installed by the dealer . Bike has maybe 800 miles on it since the upgrades. The bike went back for ping they told him a air cleaner would help , well we know that is not going to work so the bike goes back for the same reason then they tell him slip ons, and then a oil cooler. So in the end the bike is leaking oil from just about new until now. It has the MLS gaskets already installed.

That sux. Sounds like the dealer didn't know what was going on and just kept making the bike leaner/hotter each time they did something and eventually caused the leak. What idiots. Definitely a dealer to avoid.

Good luck proving that. I agree that is is a bad deal. But that explains why we are fixing the bike for him vs the dealer.
