I bought a Corbin Hollywood solo seat from Corbin Florida at the beginning of bike week a week ago Sunday.
I noticed on the ride home to Tampa that same day that the front of the seat wasn't square with the console leaving a gap which is worse when you sit on the seat because the basepan bows. I also noticed that it felt like I was sitting on golf *****. I thought about returning to the store but I was pushed for time to get home the same day.
After examining the seat I discovered that there was no adjustment that could be made to make the seat fit better on the bike and the way the seat is made with their locking mechanism right under your butt there would be no way to make the seat more comfortable.
I called Corbin and talked to a representative and told him I was unhappy with the seat and he said no problem just come back and they would swap it out with another seat.
It was too cold on this past Sunday for me to ride over there and I am now glad I didn't because I just talked to Don(one of the store managers) and he said they would not swap out the seat for another model. They tell you "just ride the seat and it will break in" what they don't tell you is once it is on your bike, you own it, period.
I am waiting for an RMA number because they say they will repair the seat, but so far my dealings with Corbin have been less than desirable.
I paid them to ship my old seat back to me and the said it would go by UPS on Monday which means I would get it Tuesday. I had to call Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and it finally showed up on Friday.
Buyer beware when dealing with Corbin if you order a seat and received it and don't like it, too bad, it is yours.
Right now I feel like I have been burnt for $340 by Corbin.
Sorry to read that you didn't get customer service for the amount of money you spent for quality you expected from what I would've thought was a reputable seat manufacturer. I have had a great experience with Le Pera customs. They still believe that service is part of the sale.
You mean you got waited on there ? We stopped there Thur. afternoon ,Wanted to get a seat for the wifes Dyana. went toMustang at JP cycle what a difference They were slammed they would talk to a couple of people at a time It started to rain asked if we could come back in the morning so they could spend the time to get the right seat for the wife. They were out of a couple of seats to fit her bike but hadthem there in the morning. Spent another hr got her set up with what she wanted. The only problemwas that they did not have one left for sale. They even called their other place So they are sending the new one . They called us today it will be here on Thursday. Plus 10% off and free shipping .
Your story has been told time and time again about Corbin. I had a WG and was researching whether to get a Corbin or Mustang. Went with Mustang because the Corbin person I talked to on th ephone was plain rude. Have since put a Mustang on my SERK for the same reason. Last year at Sturgis the Mustang people were unbelievably nice to work with.
I have a Corbin on my FXR. Excellent seat. Poor follow up customer service for me. I had a question I emailed them about what color to use to touch up some wear marks on the seat (charcoal or black). They never responded. I called them and got a bit of attitude from the woman I talked to and she said IF I brought the seat to them (over 100 miles from my house) theyMIGHT be able to see what could be done. No thanks. Too Bad. The seat is very well made and comfortable. Some people just don't get the importance of customer service. Or maybe they don't even care.
Wow, I'm surprised to read this about Corbin because I've just had excellent customer service. Had a flaw in my purchased product, spoke with Sergio in the customer service group. He had them building me a new one before my returned unit got back to the factory. All is good.
Another story on Corbin. A Friend of mine ordered seat and the Beadle bags for a SE Fat boy Dec.8Th was told 4 to 6 wks seat showed up 5 weeks bags showed up Feb, 21 He called 4 times they did not know anything and said they would call back they NEVER did return call. Acted as he was bothering them. But they sure spend money on full page adds
I purchased a Corbin Stinger seat the end of last year. When I placed the order they immediately charged my credit card. Said I would have my seat in 3 weeks. After 50 phone calls & emails got the seat 2 & 1/2 months later. Was told several times it would ship in a day or two but never did.
When I got the seat I thought it was well constructed. The color was off from what I expected. Also the front underside mounting tounge was riveted in crooked which cocked the seat to the left. I called & emailed Corbin about it several times, got zero response from them.Had to take Dremel and hacksaw to metal tounge to get seat to sit properly. It also has a bow in it front to back which keeps the rear part from sitting flush on the rear fender. I think that will work out a bit from break in though.
